SDL Surveying are delighted to announce that two of their Regional Surveyors, Hugh Riley and Richard Ballam, have been awarded “Fellow” RICS status. FRICS is the gold standard of RICS qualifications and a declaration of recognition for those reflecting the principles of the RICS. Hugh and Richard, who have been with SDL Surveying since 2007 and 2013 respectively, are the Regional Surveyors for the North and South of England SDL areas, and help manage the team of SDL staff surveyors.
Having submitted their applications in mid-October, both were delighted to be advised of the FRICS award within weeks – following a review process which normally takes a couple of months. The FRICS application process required Hugh and Richard to demonstrate that they met four of the twelve Fellowship characteristics in Champion, Expert, Influencer and Role Model categories. The written submissions included a career history and a statement on how their achievements met these Fellowship requirements.
Hugh Riley FRICS commented, “I am delighted to have received this acknowledgement from the RICS which is the culmination of many years’ experience in Residential property and a recognition of excellence in line with RICS values, aims and goals”.
Richard Ballam FRICS commented, “I am very pleased to have been recognised by the RICS and to have helped the institution by training people and helping bring new blood into the profession. Of course, my new status will give me an excuse to wear my suit more often”.
Both Hugh and Richard would like to thank those who helped and supported them with their applications: Ian Fergusson, Simon Jackson, Giles Smith, David Akehurst, and Alex Barton.
Congratulations Hugh and Richard!
